Whelp, I just gave my second talk on Familiar Shapes, this time at the Society for Photographic Education Southeast's annual retreat at Penland School of Crafts. Penland is in a gorgeous part of North Carolina (feels very 'witchy') and the talk was in their beautiful new photography building (feels very 'techy'). I definitely crammed in too much, and never really got to the connections between bots and familiars because I spent so much time talking history and technology. But I can see the bones of this talk getting better. It'll get there.
I also showed a (very rough) five minute clip from the film. (What-what?!) It's not ready for public consumption, so I'm not sharing it here... but the beginning of the rough cut is starting to look... kind of awesome. I'm stoked to build the rest of this beast and get hunkered down in animatics and animation. Soon.
In the meantime, for those who are interested, here's the PowerPoint of the talk. Feel free to share, and please let me know if you have any questions or thoughts for future interations of this PowerPoint!
