My last San Francisco interview was with Paolo Parigi, who's diversity of research is really fascinating. Besides teaching Sociology courses at Stanford University, Paolo is also a researcher for AirBnB, and is most interested in the importance of trust (which is apparently not a simple thing in on-line platforms!) He also wrote the fascinating book The Rationalization of Miracles on how the Catholic Church developed its current system for legitimizing miracles and determining sainthood.
