On Saturday May 12th (I know, this is very belated), I had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. John Callow in the library of the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic. John specializes in 17th century politics and popular culture and recently published Embracing the Darkness: A Cultural History of Witchcraft which sounds fascinating, and I’m really looking forward to digging into it! We had a great conversation about familiars and their role in the early modern imagination. It was a great start to three days of interviews focusing on early modern witches, spirits, and all things related.
